The Croatian Parliament accepted the amendments to the Copyright and Related Rights Act

Representatives of the Croatian Parliament voted last week to accept amendments to the Copyright and Related Rights Act. These modifications are part of the implementation of the CRM Directive with the aim of harmonizing the Croatian legislation with the EU legislation, In terms of raising the level of binding standards for the collective management organizations.

ZAPRAF as a collective organization that is dealing with protection, collection and distribution of fees from the use of phonogram rights will have to adapt its internal acts and implement the provisions of the Directive and the new Act.

With greater transparency, the Directive also introduces a number of positive provisions relating to the improvement and more efficient operation of collective organizations in order to provide better services to the right-holders they protect.
